Cost Accounting Manager



We are hiring a Cost Accounting Manager for an established manufacturing company in the Reading area. The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for the overall accounting and costing functions of the company’s manufacturing operations. The Cost Accounting Manager is contracted for three months and is expected to be onsite.



Responsibilities of Cost Accounting Manager



  • Developing cost standards for materials and labor
  • Designing and implementing cost accounting systems
  • Analyzing production costs and recommending changes
  • Analyze Revenue, Direct & Indirect Labor, Variable Standard, Inventory valuation, burden rates, Cost of Sales and Gross Margin.
  • Update Operations Scorecards
  • Compare actual product costs with budget, estimates or standards and analyze results
  • Validate cost of goods sold as part of month-end close
  • Manage accurate and timely inventory control, including cycle counts, WIP monthly valuation, and physical inventory accuracy. Analyze the slow-moving inventory to recommend reserves.
  • Responsible for annual site year-end Physical Inventory

    Job Requirements

    Skills/Qualifications of Cost Accounting Manager



  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or equivalent degree and/or experience
  • 8+ years’ experience as a Cost Accounting Manager
  • Experience in SAP system is a plus
